Just Remember I Love You And It Will Be Alright?

I remember listening to songs in the 70’s cause I’m a 70’s child even tho I was born in the 1964. I heard a song and can’t remember who the artist was. Do you know who it is? I think it’s a group called Firefall but I’m not sure. Do you like songs from the 70’s? I like all types of music from Classical, Classic Rock, Blues And Rhythm & Blues. I will listen to basically anything but I love soft rock like Ambrosia and Bread (David Gates lead singer). I listen to Carol King, Carly Simon, James Taylor and Jim Croce. Dan Fogelberg is cool also! I prefer my music to be easy and laid back not harsh. I do listen to Heavy Metal on occasion. What do you like? Thanks for any answers!

OMG.. I remember that song (although I am not as old as you are!!)
I think it was a ONE HIT WONDER…. I do like some of the 70’s music.. I had 2 older sisters so I remember alot of it….

Five years into one of the most unlikely reunions in recent rock & roll history, the New York Dolls have begun to acknowledge the great paradox of the new edition of the band. If ever there was a band with a distinctive musical and emotional personality, it was the Dolls, but with only two members of the original lineup still alive and able to take the stage in 2009, David Johansen and Syl Sylvain have had a heavy burden to bear, trying to make music that feels and sounds like the New York Dolls without their iconic lead guitarist, their original rhythm section, and the sort of lifestyle that defined their world view when they were the edgiest band in America’s toughest city. The new Dolls created a reasonable approximation of what their old sound would have been like had they all survived into the new millennium on 2006’s One Day It Will Please Us to Remember Even This, but 2009’s ‘Cause I Sez So suggests this band has little interest in living in the past, including their own. Todd Rundgren, who produced the Dolls’ brilliant 1973 debut, was behind the controls for this set, and the first two songs, “‘Cause I Sez So” and “Muddy Bones,” conjure up the sloppy downtown energy of the Dolls Mk. 1 better than anything on One Day It Will Please Us, full of dirty guitars, crashing drums, and broadly strutting vocals from Johansen, complemented by Rundgren’s roomy, natural-sounding production. But after that one-two punch, the album shifts gears, easing into a groove that’s more easygoing and (gulp) mature than the classic Dolls assault, with a warmer and more subdued approach. “Lonely So Long” is a great pop tune with a faint resemblance to the Beatles, “Nobody Got No Bizness” is a high-spirited, hip-shaking R&B shuffle, “Temptation to Exist” is a melodramatic ballad that sounds like it could have fit onto one of Johansen’s Buster Poindexter albums, “This Is Ridiculous” is a blues-influenced number that gives the singer plenty of room to showboat, and “Maki…

A Shot in the Dark: Making Records in Nashville, 1945-1955

With a “Soundtrack” CD!Before Elvis hit town, back before country music was synonymous with Nashville, a small group of intrepid entrepreneurs–local businessmen looking to make a buck and have some fun–were recording and selling all the local music they could find. From dance bands to gospel, from rhythm & blues to, yes, country music, these men inadvertently documented a wealth of local music as they struggled to run successful recording studios.Hawkins goes beyond the music to tell the stories of the behind-the-scenes folks responsible for turning Nashville into Music City U.S.A. From Jim Bulleit, who was there at the very beginnings of the music industry, to Bill Beasley, who took on the emerging Music Row ‘establishment’ and lost, Hawkins guides us through the careers of the folks who defined Nashville’s music scene for an exciting, unpredictable decade and traces the rise and fall of local music labels like Bullet, World, Tennessee, Republic and Speed.Though the focus of the book is on the recording companies, studios, DJs and other music promoters, it also underlines the importance of some of the giants of Nashville music–like Francis Craig, who recorded an international hit by accident, Owen Bradley, who had a hand in many early labels, Del Wood, the surprise star of honky tonk piano, the fabulous blues singer Christine Kittrell, the underrated R&B bandleader Louis Brooks, the ubiquitous gospel promoter, Wally Fowler, the long-established Fairfield Four, and the king of the rude country song, Randy Hughes. This book builds off of and develops more fully the research Hawkins did for the critically acclaimed Bear Family Records box collections of Nashville recordings during this same time. Full of lush photographs, many being published here for the first time, and accompanied by a twenty-song CD highlighting the wide range of music being made in Nashville at the time, the book immerses readers in the sights, sounds, and stories of

Chapters: Prince, Little Richard, Smokey Robinson, Raphael Saadiq, Omarion, William Duvall. Excerpt: Little Richard Richard Wayne Penniman (born December 5, 1932) known by the stage name Little Richard , is an American singer , songwriter , pianist and recording artist , considered key in the transition from rhythm and blues to rock and roll in the 1950s. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame web site entry on Penniman states that: “He claims to be “the architect of rock and roll,” and history would seem to bear out Little Richard s boast. More than any other performer – save, perhaps, Elvis Presley , Little Richard blew the lid off the Fifties, laying the foundation for rock and roll with his explosive music and charismatic persona. On record, he made spine-tingling rock and roll. His frantically charged piano playing and raspy, shouted vocals on such classics as “Tutti Frutti “, “Long Tall Sally ” and “Good Golly, Miss Molly ” defined the dynamic sound of rock and roll.” Penniman began his recording career in 1951 by imitating the gospel -influenced style of late-1940s jump blues artist Billy Wright , but did not achieve commercial success until 1955, when, under the guidance of Robert “Bumps” Blackwell , he began recording in a style he had been performing onstage for years, featuring varied rhythm, a heavy backbeat, funky saxophone grooves, over-the-top Gospel-style singing, moans, screams, and other emotive inflections, accompanied by a combination of boogie-woogie and rhythm and blues music. This new music, which included an original injection of funk into the rock and roll beat, inspired James Brown , Elvis Presley, Otis Redding and generations of other rhythm

 After School Session [Expanded]

After School Session [Expanded]

Chuck Berry’s first album boasts a picture of him lifted from his appearance in the 1956-vintage rock & roll movie Rock, Rock, Rock — it’s a daring pose if you look closely, the singer/guitarist/songwriter captured at his most animated, in what was a pretty bold pose for a black artist in an interracial movie, strutting and duck-walking across the screen with his guitar at full…exposure. That said, bold as the movie appearance was and the pose that was reflected in its cover, After School Session came out fairly late, given that his first hit, “Maybellene,” dated from the summer of 1955. This was partly owing to the sheer novelty of rock & roll LPs — during that period, only a relative handful reached the public, and a significant portion of those were the work of Elvis Presley or Bill Haley, whose associations with the gigantic RCA Victor and Decca labels, respectively, put them in virtually a separate universe from everyone else in the field, especially Berry, recording for the tiny independent Chess label. Chess Records hadn’t even issued its first LP until the end of 1956, and that album, the soundtrack LP Rock, Rock, Rock, had included “Maybellene.” After School Session was only the label’s second-ever long-player, and its timing was predicated on the fact that, after “Maybellene,” the rock & roll legend hadn’t charted another major pop hit in almost two years (though he had generated some serious R&B hits, which are included here, among them the blues “Wee Wee Hours” — which was what Berry originally purported to represent as his sound — and the more rhythm-oriented “No Money Down” and “Brown Eyed Handsome Man”). It was the release and hit status of “School Day” in the early spring of 1957 that yielded this album, which is a brilliant compendium of the range, depth, and breadth of Berry’s music across his first two years as a recording artist. The sounds ranged from the pounding, jargon-laden teen-oriented beat of “School Day” through …
